SURE SHOTS TIP LIST
Bubbling under the 50. Most likely to make a chart impact.
1. Jerry Cantrell "Dickeye"
Third single from Boggy Depot. Should be another smash.
2. Beastie Boys "Body Movin'"
3. Dave Matthews Band "Crush"
4. Metallica "Turn The Page"
5. Rammstein "Sensucht"
6. Pearl Jam "Elderly Woman"
Live version from new live album.

SHOOT THE RADIO SHITLIST
Overplayed, overrated, overhyped. Least likely to make chart impact.
1. Shawn Mullins "Lullaby"
How many weeks has it been? 3 or 4 I think. Hating it more and more.
2. Placebo "Pure Morning"
He should just fall off the building in the video and die a bloody death.
3. Kid Rock "I Am The Bullgod"
4. Alanis Morissette "Thank U"
5. Whitney & Mariah "When You Believe"
The weak melody, bland lyrics and the pretentious screaming will ensure the top spot on the shitlist in upcoming weeks.

CHART UPDATE

Kiss' "Psycho Circus" is number one for a third consecutive week. The last three chart toppers have spent a total of 10 weeks at top and at least three weeks each. The three records are perhaps the strongest of the year. Hole's "Celebrity Skin" is at #7 with a bullet, spending its 11th week in the Top 10. Creed's "What's This Life For" moves back up to #2 from #3 spending its 10th week in the Top 3. However, there is strong competition behind Kiss. Stabbing Westward's "Sometimes It Hurts" moves to #3 on its 9th week while The Offspring's "Pretty Fly", armed with personal and popular points and consistent weekly gains, moves from 7 to 5. And even more consistently gaining is Everlast's "What It's Like", which debuted 6 weeks ago at #45. Now it is #8. Entering the Top 20 with a bright future ahead of them are New Radicals' "You Get What You Give", this week's second biggest gainer, and Better Than Ezra's "At The Stars", up from 26 to 16, surpassing the peak of their previous hit "One More Murder".

HALL OF FAME

The overall rankings welcome four new songs into the Gold / Platinum club. There are 32 songs in competition now. "Father Of Mine" is now the #1 song in chart history, despite spending only one week at #1. It has surpassed the point total of "Iris". Close behind is Hole's "Celebrity Skin", which is still in the Top 10 and gaining points, already approaching platinum. It will definitely hit platinum next week. If Everclear continues its amazing streak on the chart, it could hold back Hole but for now it seems likely that Hole will have the #1 song in chart history in a couple of weeks. Close behind are Creed's "What's This Life For", which is the longest running #1 in chart history and the longest running Top 3 hit. It is fast approaching platinum as well.

ROCK SPOTLIGHT

Will return next week.

GOLD & PLATINUM

GOLD -
Stabbing Westward - "Sometimes It Hurts"
Lenny Kravitz - "Fly Away"
Dishwalla - "Once In A While"
Kiss - "Psycho Circus"

4 new singles go gold this week and Kiss, currently the #1 song, should have a great chance of going platinum. Similarly, the Stabbing Westward and Lenny Kravitz singles are not too late in their chart lives to continue gaining points.
