SURE SHOTS TIP LIST
Bubbling under the 50. Most likely to make a chart impact.
1. Marvelous 3 "Freak Of The Week"
Just missed the chart at #51 this week. It should make a splashy entry this week. A great catchy new alternative single.
2. Collective Soul "Heavy"
This is the single being serviced to rock radio. It will be HUGE on my chart. Look for a future #1 for one of my all time favorite bands.
3. Rammstein "Sehnsucht"
It's back and it should make an entry in upcoming weeks.
4. One Minute Silence "A Waste Of Things To Come"
5. Train "Free"
6. Limp Bizkit "Faith"
This is actually growing on me, might be on the chart in upcoming weeks. Airplay is still growing.

SHOOT THE RADIO SHITLIST
Overplayed, overrated, overhyped. Least likely to make chart impact.
1. Shawn Mullins "Lullaby"
I went back and counted how many weeks this was at #1. The total is 11 weeks. I really hate this song.
2. Mariah & Whitney "When You Believe"
It's back. This song really sucks
3. Faithless "God Is A DJ"
4. Touch & Go "Would You..."
I really don't get what's so great about this song. It's just annoying.
5. Janet Jackson "Every Time"

CHART UPDATE

An amazing run for The Black Crowes at #1. Their excellent single "Kickin' My Heart Around" spends its 6th week at #1 and it doesn't look like it's going to leave the top spot anytime soon. The only real competitor seems to be Candlebox's "10,000 Horses". However, the single is lacking any popular points as radio has stopped playing this excellent song. Despite this, it is #1 on personal points and it's this week's Most Improved. However, it ranks at #3, 20 or so points behind the #1 title. We'll see if this one has the legs. Hole's "Malibu" spends its 2nd week at #2 and it seems to have peaked. But as we have seen in the past, anything can happen. Maybe even #50 "Machete" will be #1 next week. In other chart news, it is the first time two bands have two singles in the Top 10. For many weeks, Hole has charted two singles in the Top 10. Now, Creed joins in as "One" moves up to #10 from #11, on the strength of popular points, barely inching out the #11 title "Surefire (Never Enough)", which could be back in the Top 10 once "Celebrity Skin" moves out. A significant mover this week is Jonny Lang's "Still Rainin'", the first blues title to hit that high. Last year, Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "Somehow, Somewhere Someway" peaked at #11. Candlebox charts 3 singles this week as "It's Alright" is lingering at #32, "10,000 Horses" are riding high and their latest "Happy Pills" debuts at #41. Look for this single to hit Top 10 depending on its airplay performance and general exposure.

HALL OF FAME

Goo Goo Dolls score platinum single number two with "Slide", which sets to become one of the biggest chart hits of all time. Although it never hit #1, it has found permanent residence in the Top 10, and it is still hot at radio. Eve 6 spend their 24th week on the chart with "Inside Out". It is ranking #4 on the hall of fame and it is currently the longest charting title as well as the highest charting title on the Hall of Fame which did not peak at #1.

ROCK SPOTLIGHT

The new Collective Soul single is burning up radio with a #20 debut on Mainstream and #37 on Alternative. It should be huge on both formats.

GOLD & PLATINUM

PLATINUM -
Goo Goo Dolls - "Slide"

GOLD -
Monster Magnet - "Powertrip"

Monster Magnet score gold single #2 while Goo Goo Dolls score platinum single #2.
