1. Rob Zombie "Superbeast"
SURE SHOTS TIP LIST
Bubbling under the 50. Most likely to make a chart impact.
Rob is one of the chart's strongest artists. 2 consecutive Top 10 smashes so far.
1. Limp Bizkit "Nookie"
SHOOT THE RADIO SHITLIST
Overplayed, overrated, overhyped. Least likely to make chart impact.
3 weeks at #1. Stupid video.
2. Will Smith "Wild Wild West"
Horrible video.
3. Whitney Houston "It's Not Right But It's Okay"
4. Britney Spears "Sometimes"
1 week at #1. The song isn't really too bad, it's just her brain deadness I guess.
5. Orgy "Stitches"
I'm not too fond of the fact that they can release this crap and get away with it because they're on Korn's label. Stupid kids.
NUMBER ONE
Another week for "Promises" but the new Red Hot Chili Peppers has moved to #2, threatening Def Leppard's reign at #1. Further down, we got new singles from Scorpions, Great White and of course, Megadeth threatening to take number one in following weeks.
NEW ENTRIES
Megadeth are back but they don't make a debut as strong as expected. Popular points are about the same ranking (low 20's). Hopefully, its airplay will grow in coming weeks. It's a great track. This week's highest debut is Tonic, as expected. The track is already huge at rock radio and has plenty of space to grow. Good stuff. Also new stuff from Great White looks like it could follow the success the Black Crowes have had in past months, as the Great White track seems to have the same vibe.
THE LONGEVITY CHECK
The Black Crowes' "Kickin' My Heart Around" is #48 on its 33rd week while Godsmack's "Whatever" takes a major fall down to #36 on its 32nd week.
GOLD & PLATINUM
PLATINUM -
Oleander - "Why I'm Here"
The Black Crowes - "Kickin' My Heart Around"GOLD -
Def Leppard - "Promises"
Staind - "Just Go"Great stuff from Def Lep goes gold. The Black Crowes go platinum once more, the first single to cross the 4000 point mark.
ROCK SPOTLIGHT
The new Megadeth is this week's biggest add track, however, not as big as expected. And I'm very surprised since it's a very strong track with a dark mood and feel. Definitely something I see the kids going for as well as classic rockers. It's got some great riffs. I guess mediocre commercial crap from Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit takes predecence over anything of quality.
